Introducing the Career of Dori Gilbert

Strategic Communications

When I review my diverse career, I see a recurring theme in delivering tailored education and communication strategies to ensure successful adoption of change. My ability to discern and amplify business value has consistently driven impactful outcomes.


With competence in stakeholder-centric project management, I fuel efficiency and alignment across teams. I am passionate about fostering trust and collaboration in key networks and committed to integrating organizational transformation through impactful information flows. I’m known for an unwavering ability to bring clarity to complex scenarios, ensuring effective communication at every level. I guarantee that critical insights into challenges, successes, and improvements will reach the right stakeholders at the right time.


This communications theme was capped with 8 years of experience in a large IT environment where I focused on communications for user awareness and adoption. The last two years were facilitating and communicating transformation from the perspective of our IT project portfolio. Prior to this, I became skilled in Project Management, Product Management, and Product Marketing.

I’ve cultivated holistic leadership skills such as executive collaboration, self-awareness, and systems thinking, which complement my natural talents for professional empathy and strategic vision. I’ve exercised my knowledge and experience with these certifications:


  • Change Management Professional. My certificate is from Acuity and in a course from Prosci on Integrating Agile and Change Management. Expertise in conveying valuable information and managing stakeholders effectively
  • ECHO Listening Intelligence (LQ™) Certified Practitioner. Enhancing communication by adapting to listening preferences and boosting productivity. 
  • PMO-CP Certified Practitioner. Demonstrating alignment of project value to business goals and strategic objectives.
  • Product Portfolio Management. Building value-based strategies through design-thinking and portfolio management.


Clarity in Action


I once onboarded ~30,000 users to Zoom in 2 months! We helped save money by eliminating multiple meeting platform contracts. When I was in an IT Project Management Office, I increased Project Manager tool adoption by 20% to help maximize value delivered in our methodology and tool investment.

I align with stakeholders, learning from them by listening to key staff, partners, executives and peers. I am a maximizer and naturally want to continuously improve to make processes and interactions more efficient and responsive to change.  My superpower is clarity, and I'm known as a Connoisseur of Clarity, a Complexity Wrangler, and Workflow Whisperer.


In this Zoom story I facilitated customized solutions for specific stakeholder groups like executive assistants, the marketing team, and the regional CIOs.  I also created a knowledge hub on an accessible platform with guides for stakeholder groups, tip sheets, training recordings, and the calendar of live training sessions.


Project milestones and product tips were communicated through various newsletters, cascaded through leaders, and shared with key stakeholder groups.

My Zoom story

Most of these talents were used in a project where I led adoption efforts in collaboration with an adoption project manager and a trainer. We onboarded about 30,000 people to the Zoom meeting platform in 60 days.


I utilized a change management and usability approach, filling in stakeholder needs for data, dashboards, and specialized training, ensuring that interactions were alchemized into experiences that resonated.
