Introducing the career of Dori Gilbert, PMO-CP

Passionate about Delivery

My career is a fusion of management experience enabling me to move adeptly through project and operational delivery issues while facilitating strategic alignment and growth/transformation. I lead through my superpower of clarity!


How does this experience contribute to meeting program or operational goals? I drive your success by bridging gaps, optimizing interactions, and resolving delivery challenges. My main passions are maximizing communication, business acumen, and information flow in the Project Management Office (PMO). I help facilitate effective project decisions, actions, and reporting. I guarantee that critical insights on challenges, successes, and improvements will reach the right stakeholders at the right time.


Because of my drive toward clarity, I unite teams for cohesive, efficient delivery that is aligned with purpose and the execution promise. As business objectives change, I specialize in adapting methodologies to meet evolving customer needs and market dynamics.


With my unique blend of product delivery, change management, project governance and executive communication skills, I help establish, grow, and manage an adaptable project or operational delivery function. I was a project manager in my early career and have built my career on project delivery skills while developing my holistic leadership skills.


In 2025, I received my Project Management Office Certified Practitioner (PMO-CP) certificate. With the associated coursework on the PMO Value Ring Methodology I learned practical ways to measure and demonstrate PMO/Program value and it confirmed my depth of knowledge in managing a stakeholder-oriented delivery function.


In 2023, I was certified in the ECHO Listening Intelligence system, which facilitates team synergy and collaboration based on understanding and adapting to various listening preferences. Improved listening skills and courageous information sharing are at the heart of communication agility!


These certifications rounded out my expertise in human-centered design, which is prevalent in the frameworks for my Product Portfolio Management and Change Management certifications.

Operationally, I have managed:

  • Departments of more than 20 people, including staff, contractors, and volunteers
  • 20% improvement in product release time to market
  • Negotiations for a 35% decrease in hotel meeting room expenses when I stood in for manager to lead CIO all-hands meeting for 2500+ attendees, in person and broadcast
  • Initiatives to increase adoption of IT project management tools and methodology by 20-30%
  • Individual initiative budgets from $.5 million and up

Project and Delivery Optimization

Project Management

I define Project Management as encompassing day-to-day or weekly project operational tasks like team check-in meetings; assessing budgets, timelines and risk; and reporting on project status. Project Management is also a competency that enables a person to maximize the order and dependencies of tasks, empower resources to fulfil their piece, and facilitate the project completion. 

Project Delivery Leadership

Project Delivery Leadership focuses on weekly to quarterly oversight tasks. While it builds on and overlaps with project management competency, I engage in project delivery leadership which is also focused on improving project methodology to fit business objectives, streamlining communication for increased stakeholder satisfaction, and aligning work to changing competitive dynamics.

Team Cohesion for Delivery Optimization

My skills in optimizing information flow,  problem identification and resolution, and uniting teams with a shared purpose and execution promise will optimize your delivery in various contexts and scenarios. 


In my first assignment as a project manager, I had to complete customizations on top of a base  technology product that wasn't complete yet. The project was to serve as a catalyst for winning the contract. I optimized relationships with the base product team and supporting internal partners to facilitate trust and clear communications. While there were challenges and minor delays, my project was delivered within 15% of baseline timeline and budget. I was awarded the original letter of contract by the customer and account team for excellence in project delivery.  

Delivery & Change Resilience

A versatile background gives ease in responding to objectives and shifting business conditions.

Over the span of my career, I've learned how to deliver end-to-end systems that fulfill the execution promise. I also accept that change is a normal part of doing business, and that it's best to use resources for projects that bring the most value, even if that means putting one or more on hold.


With project and product delivery management as a foundation, I integrate change management, user adoption and professional development through superb communication skills - speaking, writing, and listening. I have the courage and clarity to communicate gaps, to ask for leadership help, and to recognize conditions that will lend to success. 


Bonus: I learn from multiple sources, even through the experience of others, and I'm an autodidactic learner. This means I ease into learning new business environments.

I align with stakeholder needs that I learn from listening to key staff, partners, executives and peers. I naturally want to continuously improve to make processes and interactions more efficient and responsive to change. Since my background spans product management, project oversight, stakeholder engagement, and change management, I am uniquely equipped to bridge strategy and execution in complex environments


In this Zoom story I facilitated customized solutions for specific stakeholder groups like executive assistants, the marketing team, and the regional CIOs.  I also created a knowledge hub on an accessible platform with guides for stakeholder groups, tip sheets, training recordings, and the calendar of live training sessions.


Project milestones and product tips were communicated through various newsletters, cascaded through leaders, and shared with key stakeholder groups.

My Zoom story

Most of these talents were used in a project where I led adoption efforts in collaboration with an adoption project manager and a trainer. We onboarded about 30,000 people to the Zoom meeting platform in 60 days.


I utilized a change management and usability approach, filling in stakeholder needs for data, dashboards, and specialized training, ensuring that interactions were alchemized into experiences that resonated.
